Mutare-based renowned gospel singer Dorcas Moyo is celebrating 20 years of her music ministry as she readies to release her 11th album in September.
Speaking about how she survived and gained fame for the past 20 years, Moyo revealed that patience, focus and determination have been her recipe for survival and elevation in the industry.
“I want to thank God for these 20 years in the ministry. The journey was not easy for me, if I tell you that my first project was in the year 2005 but I got a breakthrough in 2017.This means that I have been patient for 12 good years.
“In my ministry, I faced a lot of attacks, criticism and mockery but I could not lose hope and focus. I press on towards what God promised me and I will keep my eyes on the cross of Jesus Christ,” she said
Moyo further expressed that music is not an instant fruit while revealing the need for her fellow musicians to be patient and keep working hard until the fruit matures.
“There are some who think that when they release a song, they will make impact right away, that was not with my experience, I have been patient. Help me to celebrate 20 years of serving God despite the drawbacks,” she added.
Dorcas Moyo has so far released 10 albums and is expected to release the 2025 album in September this year titled “Mugeri tsvatu”.
