Mt. Darwin gospel preacher and soul winner, Evangelist Nyasha Ruzive, has declared August as the season when Christians should be more active and sensitive spiritually, revealing that believers should stay more in God’s presence and have a strong relationship with God especially in this month and season when many people perform worldly rituals and sacrifices which might cause difficulties in families and other people if they do not have God’s covering.
In his sermon, Evangelist Ruzive expressed that when one is in God’s presence, forces of darkness do not have power over their lives.
“Remaining connected to God makes you safe not vulnerable to the will of the devil. In this month of August, the devil is looking for people to initiate into the worldly acts, rituals and sacrifices.
“Many cultural practices and spirit medium ceremonies are held during this month. Ceremonies such as appeasement of the dead and other rituals are performed in August so we are saying to all the believers, let us remain strong in Jesus Christ and do not allow the wave of this month to shake us from the foundation that we have in our Lord.
“Above all let us increase in prayer and in this month, we are declaring it a month of prayer and of catching the fire of God. Prayer is the only thing that will make us strong in this season, “said Ruzive.
Meanwhile, believers from across the country who shared their expressions about the month of August supported the notion that August is a dark month which requires spiritual muscles to navigate.
Melania Mutero said “It is true that August is characterised with many evil practices because many people perform marine rituals, pray to their ancestors and do many rituals so as Christians we should be staying in God’s presence so that we remain safe,” she said.
Mr Khumalo revealed that “The reason why many accidents seem to happen in August is because of the bad spirit that will be moving during the month because of unclean rituals and sacrifices done in this month. So, for us as Christians to be safe, we need to engage more in prayer and fasting, praying for our country and families. We carry the light so we should dominate, he said
There are various reasons why August might be considered a dark month in certain contexts:
In ancient Rome, August was a month associated with mourning and somber rituals, as it was a time when many festivals and celebrations had concluded.
Throughout history, August has seen numerous significant wars and conflicts, contributing to its perception as a dark month.
