Faith World Ministries President Archbishop Dr. Bartholomew Manjoro has condemned acts of same-sex relationships and marriages in the body of Christ saying that the kingdom of God can only be inherited by those who are pure in hearts and upright in their conduct.
Speaking to hundreds of people who recently gathered for a service in Belvedere, Archbishop Manjoro expressed that homosexuality is detestable, morally reprehensible and should not be tolerated in the church.
“It is very disgusting to have a man dating another man or a lady dating another lady. If you are a man, you should have love with a woman or vise versa. We do not expect people of same-sex to have love affairs. In this church, we say no to same-sex relationships and marriages. You must be born again.
“If you are a man and you find yourself attracted to other men, or a woman drawn to other women, hear me clearly — that path is not of God. It is evil, and you need to repent and be born again. You cannot walk in same-sex desires and expect to inherit the Kingdom of God.
“In the house of God, there are righteous men and women whom you can marry in the way that pleases Him. Surrender your life, be born again, and you will begin to experience the true power and glory of the Kingdom of God,” said Manjoro.
Meanwhile, believers commended the message expressing that it has been timely since there has been rampant moral decay in the body of Christ.
Tinashe Nyikayaramba said “Indeed this is the church of God, not the organisation of men,” he said.
“That word is so powerful, no to homosexuality,” said Muparadzi.
According to the Bible, Leviticus 20:13 says that if a man also lies with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Section 78 (3) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe states that persons of the same sex are prohibited from marrying each other.
