The body of Christ has been warned against inhumane and immoral practices that defile the place of worship and cause the presence of God not to stay in the church.
Speaking to saints during a service at Faith World Ministries in Harare, the ministry’s President Bishop Bartholomew Manjoro has warned young people against engaging in ungodly relationships in the church expressing that the temple of God has been built to glorify God and represent the kingdom of God.
“We have not built the church for you to engage in ungodly relationships here. It is a place for fellowship with God, leading people to God. It is about the Kingdom of the most high here not the kingdom of darkness.
“All the youths and people who are involved in ungodly habits here must be warned and must stop that and begin to focus to God,” said Manjoro.
Meanwhile, speaking at a different occasion, renowned gospel preacher and musician minister Kudakwashe Mandizvidza condemned some preachers who do not value the Altar of God saying that God’s presence does not favor a defiled place.
“Is the environment worthy for God to stay? Nowadays we are calling God into our meetings and when he comes he cannot even stay because of the secret sin that we have done.
“You can stand and preach powerfully yet you are beating your wife at home or committing adultery. As the body of Christ we must stop calling God to come to our meetings when we have already defiled the altar, let us fear God,” he said.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17 reminds the body of Christ to preserve holiness as it states that “Don’t you know that you are God’s sanctuary and that God’s Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God’s sanctuary, God will destroy him; for God’s sanctuary is holy, and you are that sanctuary.”
