Thelma Saidi, an upcoming Gospel artist’s journey to the microphone began in high school corridors. In 2015, she joined the Zimpraise choir as a student, unknowingly planting seeds for her future ministry.
“I began to learn and grow musically there,” Saidi says.
“That’s where my heart was drawn into making my own music and being a solo artist.”
Resources and timing delayed that dream. But in 2024, she launched worship sessions online, sharing cover songs to build both her confidence and her audience. The turning point came when she covered Jonah Chivasa’s _Jerusalem Nderavo_. The TikTok clip gained traction, catching the attention of Chivasa himself.
“He reached out commending me for my work,” Saidi recalls.
That conversation led to a joint session, then a studio collaboration: _Murume Wechina Mumoto_ (The Fourth Man in the Fire), her debut single with Chivasa released last year.
Now, Saidi is preparing her first body of original work. A DVD recording is set for May, followed by an EP release.
She is also organising a series of worship nights aimed at uniting upcoming artists to “worship and support each other.”
Beyond music, Saidi serves in Praise and Worship at her local church, ministering through her voice weekly. Her mission, she says, is simple:
“To serve God and advance the Kingdom. To serve my generation and pour into others what God has invested in me.”
