In one of his messages, Commissioner Wayne Bungay eloquently summarised the hallmarks of his leadership, emphasising inclusivity, strategic planning, and youth empowerment.
Under his guidance, the organisation witnessed significant milestones, including the revival of Masiye Camp in Matopo, the establishment of the iconic Enterprise Hotel in Bulawayo, and the inauguration of Sekuru Sande Primary School in Manicaland Division.
Of particular interest was the much-anticipated Number 1 Ceres project, for which Commissioner Bungay revealed progress, with architectural plans now under review by the City of Harare.
His commitment to fostering soldier involvement in decision-making processes further underscored his dedication to inclusive governance.
The departure of the Bungays was met with heartfelt tributes and accolades from the community, including dignitaries such as the Kings and Queens of Matabeleland, who honoured the couple for their exemplary service.
The conferment of Kingship and Queenship entitlements upon the outgoing Commissioners symbolised the profound impact of their leadership in the Southern Region.
Chief Secretary Colonel Tineyi Mambo announced the departure arrangements, urging well-wishers to gather at the Robert Mugabe International Airport to bid the Bungays a fond farewell.
