“Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you,” signifies God’s direct intervention to bring life. The “breath” symbolises the Spirit of God, which is essential for life. In Hebrew, the word for breath (“ruach”) also means spirit. God promises to infuse these dry bones with His Spirit, bringing vitality and restoration. This act underscores the importance of God’s Spirit in renewing and sustaining life.
“And ye shall live,” declares the outcome of God’s intervention. What was once dead and dry will come to life. This promise of life is not just physical but also spiritual. It points to the revitalization and renewal of the people of Israel and, by extension, to all who are spiritually dry or dead. It speaks of hope, restoration, and the transformative power of God’s Spirit.
