Be respectful, do not consider your title to be worth more than anyone else, leaders urged

Leaders have been encouraged to embrace respect and humility in service and realise the God whom they are serving, Reverend Dr David Phiri has said during the graduation ceremony of forty-one students of Brilliant Saints Theological College held at Rainbow Cinema in Harare.

“Leaders, be respectful; don’t consider your title to be worth more than anyone or the people who are older than you. I urge you, new leaders, to be humble and respectful; don’t consider your title to be worth more than those who are older than you. Be careful also, as there are people preaching the word of God, claiming to be God’s children and doing the Lord’s work, but they are not of God.” he said.

He also advised these students to work on their own and not to rob or overcharge their congregation.

“Know where to apply things; where there is a need to work, let us work. Don’t apply spiritual things always. Where there is a need to work, please do work. A full-time pastor does not mean you don’t have to work… there are some people who are doing business”, said Reverend Dr Phiri.

Apostle Victor Magwera offered prayers for their guidance, protection, and anointing. Prophetess Dadirai Matsiya gave words of encouragement to strengthen the hearts of the graduands for the ministry. Apostle Whichway Mlauzi was the master of ceremonies.

Forty-one graduates completed rigorous theological studies, preparing them for various ministry roles. The nine individuals being ordained demonstrated exceptional commitment to serving God’s people.

Outstanding students were recognized for their academic achievements, leadership, and service to the college community. Emmanuel Magavhu was crowned Mr. Brilliant as the best student in the Diploma in Theology Program, and Confidence Chaera was crowned Mrs. Brilliant as the best student in the Certificate in Theology Program.

The Vice President of the International Preachers Council of Churches, in her closing remarks, encouraged and inspired the graduates.

The historical event was also attended by high-profile dignitaries, including Madam Hezel Madzongwe, a professional lawyer who also serves as Legal Manager for IPCC. She provided legal advice to the church leaders who were present.
