The Christ Embassy church in Bindura hosted an electrifying 5km marathon that brought together participants from all walks of life. The event kicked off with a high-energy Zumba session, setting the tone for an action-packed morning that would leave everyone feeling inspired and motivated.
Pastor Alfred Gurura beamed with joy as he reflected on the massive turnout, saying the main purpose of the event was to introduce Christ to the world and build a total man who is good in both soul and body. With plans already underway for an even bigger event next year, the church is committed to promoting wellness and healthy living in the community.
The Healing Streams live healing services, which were publicized through the road run, are set to take place from Friday, July 18 to Sunday, July 20, 2025. According to Pastor Gurura, this program has brought healing and deliverance to countless people worldwide, and the church is excited to share its benefits with the community.
The event drew support from several corporates and athletes from professional clubs, including Taflow, ZPCS, ZOU, Chipadze High School, Chiwaridzo High School, and Herman High School. Their participation demonstrates their commitment to community development and wellness initiatives.
The Pastor emphasized the importance of wellness, highlighting its impact on both physical and spiritual health. He also spoke about the dangers of drug and substance abuse, noting that the road run is one way of raising awareness among youths.
Winners in various categories were awarded certificates and prizes, recognizing their achievements and encouraging others to strive for excellence. Mr. Washington Mubvumbi, a senior citizen who participated in the marathon, shared his thoughts on the importance of exercise, saying it prevents diseases and promotes overall health.
Deacon Patrick expressed the church’s gratitude for the overwhelming support from the community, highlighting the significance of the marathon in publicizing the Healing Streams program. This program, he said, will meet people’s needs in various areas, including physical, mental, and spiritual healing.
As the church looks to the future, it’s clear that events like the 5km marathon will continue to play a vital role in promoting physical and spiritual well-being. By hosting such events, Christ Embassy is living out the Bible message, “Go into the world and make disciples” (Matthew 28:19), bringing people together and sharing the good news.
