Nokutenda Bungu, an 18-year-old Lower Sixth student at Manunure High School from Kwekwe, represented Midlands at the Miss Teen of the Universe Zimbabwe pageant on July 26 in Harare, emerging as 3rd Runner Up. She credits a childhood prophecy from her late church founder for giving her the boldness to compete.
Out of 14 finalists nationwide, she emerged as the 3rd Runner Up, drawing strength from a prophecy she received in Grade 3 that has inspired her journey and fueled her passion for competing.
Speaking to ZimGospel Masters after her performance on the big stage, Bungu said that whenever she competes, she remembers the words she received from the late Dr. Ernest Sanudi, who led Vakundi Ministries and Foundation.
She stated that this position doesn’t come as a surprise, and she’s eyeing an even higher position in the near future.
“I was sure I was going to make it to the top at Miss Teen of the Universe Zimbabwe because the late Apostle Dr. Ernest Sanudi gave me a prophecy in Grade 3, 2016. His words still drive me today.”
“The prophecy, encouraged me to pursue my talents, and now I’m the 3rd Runner Up at Miss Teen of the Universe Zimbabwe.”
I believe that i am not going to end here, a brighter future still waiting for me, with these words of encouragement i will put the name of Zimbabwe on top in the whole continent.
Nokutenda is a devoted Christian who credits the wife to the late Dr. Ernest, Apostle Mazviita giving her a platform to showcase her talent during church services, as well as her mentor, Miss Banda, for guiding her along the way.
