Faith Family International Church, led by visionaries Bishop Richmond and Apostle Theresa Makiwa, is set to host its first-ever mega conference in celebration of its one-year anniversary and ordination ceremony. The event will take place from October 24 to 26 at Manyere Hall, behind Mabvuku High School in Harare.
The conference will run under the theme “Tinofamba nekutenda” (We Walk by Faith), based on 2 Corinthians 5:7.
Speaking to Zimgospel Masters Official, Bishop Richmond Makiwa said,
“The ordination is for our church, Faith Family International Church. We are going to ordain our Bishop, who is also the visionary leader of the church, and Apostle Theresa Makiwa, our spiritual mother, on the 25th of October. The event will take place at Mabvuku Hunter Car Park at Manyere Hall, where our Sunday services are held.”
“During this event, we will be celebrating one year in ministry. The anniversary will run from Friday, October 24, to Sunday, October 26. On Saturday at 9:00 AM, the ordination proceedings will begin, followed by a night of celebration in the evening.”
“We have invited several guests, including pastors, apostles, bishops, archbishops, reverends, relatives, friends, members of the private sector, and all churches. We have also invited our Member of Parliament, Honourable Scott Sakupwanya, to witness the event,” he said.
Reflecting on his journey, Bishop Makiwa shared,
“I was once a priest in the Anglican Church. After the church split, I left and served under God’s Fire Ministries. Later, I joined the Holy Spirit Reformed Church. From there, God called me to start a church. We began as a small cell group with only three people, and we didn’t branch off from any other church. God has raised us, and today, here we are.”
Apostle Choga will lead the ordination proceedings, assisted by Archbishop Dr. E. Nyamusa, bishops, and other apostles.
Bishop Makiwa expressed deep gratitude
“My words to God Almighty are few, and they are not enough for what He is doing. All I can say is thank you. You are worthy of all the praise. To all co-ministers of the word, founders, pastors, apostles, and bishops—my heartfelt gratitude.”
“I am humbled by the support of my spiritual parents, Apostle Choga and Amai, who have nurtured and guided me throughout my journey. To my wife, your sacrifices mean so much. I am deeply humbled. To friends and relatives, you mean a lot to me. Without you, I wouldn’t be who I am today. To our church members—you are truly God’s people. Lastly, I invite everyone to celebrate this great day with us. Love you all, in Jesus’ name.
Faith Family International Church was officially launched on July 23 last year.
