Harare-based charity organisation Happy Age Foundation has upscaled efforts to improve the welfare of senior citizens through equipping societies with unmatched skills that enable them to offer both social and psychological care for the elderly.

The training services have been cited to be crucial in eliminating discrimination of the senior citizens in communities.
Speaking about the initiative, Happy Age Foundation Programmes Co-ordinator Rumbidzai Jairosi expressed that the course comes with a vast of positives which include hands on experience, career opportunities in old people’s homes, expert guidance and networking which will help to have improved quality of life for the elderly.
“We are proud to have launched the Social and Psychological Elderly Care Course which can benefit learners in equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to provide effective care for elderly individuals, addressing their social and psychological needs.
“Additionally, the course may enhance job prospects in the healthcare or social services sectors as it demonstrates specialised expertise and commitment to elderly care. Ultimately, it empowers learners to make a meaningful difference in the lives of elderly individuals and their families,” she said

Happy Age Foundation has been active since some years ago in the provision of senior citizens tailored programmes which include get together gatherings, Christmas parties, donations, braai and outings among others.
