Miracle Helping Hand Foundation (MHHF) recently opened a branch in Lusulu, Binga as part of its efforts to alleviate drug abuse and to reach out to youths living in remote areas with economic empowerment education.
Speaking while unpacking the development, MHHF Founder Evangelist Farayi Mujeni expressed that they will be using sport and youth clubs as major tools to champion youth education and to foster the spirit of unity and peace.
“Sport remains a unifying tool in our quest to bring the community together particularly the youths who face a lot of challenges such as drug and substance abuse and early marriages.
“So sport will bring young people together and we then use such a platform to teach them about life and issues that affect the youth of today,” he said.
He further revealed plans to open a counselling centre for young people together with Agroecology community gardens in schools that are aimed at equipping young people with some skills that can even help them earn a living in the future.
“A therapeutic clinic will be housed at one of the schools for purposes of counselling and providing legal assistance to the abused and we will also be working with other organisations who have the same vision in order for us to achieve these goals.
“Lusulu just like many parts of Binga is prone to drought as a result of climate change hence we are going to introduce Agroecology communities gardens, and social clubs in schools. Plans are also afloat to introduce small livestock revitalisation to alleviate poverty in the marginalised commmunity.
“Above all we will also do a lot of evangelism around the area as we believe that it provides healing of the soul, body and spirit,” he added.
