A renowned music group popularly known as Joyful Praise Choir (JPC) has recently won the Outstanding Music Group Award at the National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA 2026) which were held on 28 February 2026 at Harare International Conference Centre (HICC).
Sharing expressions after receiving the award, JPC co-founder and lead vocalist Rudo Tania Gamaliel Madindi has described the award as a meaningful milestone in their journey of music while expressing her heartfelt gratitude to the supporters and the whole JPC team for the unwavering support.
“We call this an answered prayer, we do not take it for granted. This award is to honor every Joyful Praise Choir member who has worked so hard since the inception of this vision in 2013.
“Personally it was an honor to have been holding that trophy (baby) in my hands. Never shall I forget that day. I was overjoyed and overwhelmed by the love of God. We owe it to our Executive President who has prayed, worked and kept his ears open to hear from the Lord concerning this vision,” she said.
She further said that the support of fanatics keep them elevating while criticism from others continue to strengthen them to push and improve every time.
“To all our intercessors I want to say thank you for standing in the gap for us. To all our supporters, fans, friends and family, your cheering goes a long way and we sincerely appreciate you and to all our critics, we love and appreciate you. We grow by the day for we know what to fix through your constructive criticism. We become better and you have lifted us higher, God bless you,” she added.
One of the supporters who shared his congratulatory message said “Indeed JPC deserved the recognition. If you look at how consistent and hardworking they are, it is indisputable that it has remained the best choral in the country.
“As for me, their music heals, uplifts and reminds us how great the love of God is in our lives. I just want to say congratulations and we shall continue supporting you JPC,” said Tinashe.
