Rufaro Muzhingi, a gospel artist and the leader of the South African-based gospel group Masaisai Egungwa, has released a new track titled “Nyika Inorema” with the help of another fellow outfit, Vana vaMwari.
Vana vaMwari, led by Alberto Masuku, was formed in 2019.
Containing original traditional rhythms and an apostolic way of worshiping, the song has already captivated many souls and is set to be premiered on their social handles in a few days to come.
In an interview with Zimgospel Masters, Rufaro Muzhingi said, the inspiration behind this song stems from the challenges Christians face.
“What inspired me to come up with this song is that I saw the tribulations we face as Christians. We pray, but some stubborn spirits torment and strain us. So, I’ve decided to call upon the Holy Spirit to intercede on our behalf and help us conquer these evil spirits.”
Albert Masuka the founder of Vana vaMwari said, having grown up in church, the band’s leader observed many attendees whose actions did not align with God’s teachings, leading to hatred among people within the same church. This inspired the band, influenced by 1 Timothy 4:1, which warns that many will fall away from the faith, loving money and turning against one another
“We pray, but some stubborn spirits torment and strain us.”
“The challenges Christians face motivated me to create a song rooted in traditional rhythms and apostolic worship,” said Alberto.
