President Mnangagwa Hails Church’s Vital Role in Nation-Building

President Emmerson Mnangagwa delivered an important address at the Zion Christian Church Easter Sunday service in the serene town of Mbungo, Masvingo, underscoring the critical partnership between the government and the church in fostering national development.

Gathering at their revered headquarters in Mbungo, Zion Christian Church members embraced the Easter holiday tradition with reverence, commemorating the solemn occasion with deep introspection into the crucifixion of Christ and its profound significance for the Christian community.

In his address, President Mnangagwa eloquently articulated the indispensable role of the church in shaping the moral fabric of society and instilling values of productivity and unity.

He lauded the church’s efforts in promoting a work ethic that propels the nation forward, emphasising its invaluable contributions to communal and national advancement.

Furthermore, the President expressed unwavering government support for the church, vowing to uphold and protect the fundamental right to freedom of worship.

He acknowledged and appreciated the multifaceted contributions of the church across various sectors of the economy, affirming a commitment to bolstering collaboration between the government and religious institutions.

Drawing profound inspiration from biblical scriptures, President Mnangagwa urged congregants to draw strength from the enduring message of sacrifice and resilience embodied by Jesus Christ.
