Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) President Prophet Shepherd Bushiri recently warned servants of God not to nullify the existence of culture and people’s origins saying that being born again does not mean that people should terminate themselves from their origins.

In his message that he shared, Prophet Bushiri said that even Jesus Christ had his genealogy, a reflection that everyone has his or her own origins which should not be neglected even after when has been born again.

“To all men of God and those who are born again, let us never ignore our culture or isolate ourselves from our roots. Even Jesus did not abandon His roots, He lived among His people.

“While we must reject whatever is not godly within our culture, we are also called to remain present and be the light within it,” he said

Some believers who shared their expressions regarding the man of God’s message view said that some of the preachers nowadays preach an unrealistic message  that sees culture as demonic.

“The problem that we have these days is that of young preachers who do not value the existence of our origins as human beings.

“Some of them think that culture is about worshiping idols or ancestors but no ,as for me I understand it as the core values and principles that build up a community.Although there might he some bad practices in some cultures, it does not mean that it is bad but sometimes it is those people who do bad are not right,” said Sibanda

Primrose said “There is nothing bad about remaining connected to our origins. As for me I believe that some preachers are misleading people with their sermons and that is why you see some Christians do not have good relations with their relatives, it is because of wrong teachings.

“As a body of Christ we should not be ignorant, let us defend our dignity, stand with the truth with however caution that out faith is not diluted by other bad beliefs,”she said

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri is a Malawian prophet, businessman, author and the founder and leader of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG), a global ministry headquartered in South Africa with branches in several countries.

Prophet Bushiri is known for his healing sessions, and prophetic declarations, which have attracted millions of followers worldwide.

He is a prolific author with over 15 published books and has received several awards, including the Great Samaritan Award and an Honorary Doctorate from Exploits University in Malawi.
