Sue Chigorimbo, an entrepreneur and crochet artist, shares her inspiring journey that perfectly reflects the phrase, “We plan, but God decides.”
Sue began crocheting as a way to cope with personal challenges, and today, it has become her main source of livelihood.
In an interview, Sue opened up about her life story, emphasizing how God has guided her destiny.
“We plan, but God decides, that’s the story of my life. God allowed my marriage to end and redirected me to crocheting, which has opened many doors,” she said.
Sue often says that without evidence of abuse, people tend not to believe you, and this was part of her painful experience. She suffered emotional abuse, and despite crying for help, many ignored her because there was no visible proof, which contributed to the end of her marriage.
She also expressed concern about how judgmental many Christian communities can be.
“I know I’ll face backlash for saying this, but many Christians are judgmental. They don’t judge sins they are comfortable with,” she said.
Her handmade products are branded “by Mapara,” which is her totem.
“I use my totem because it represents identity,” she explained.
Sue added that there’s nothing wrong with using your totem as a Christian, after all, the Bible mentions totems like the Lion of Judah.
In a world where people often use personal stories against you, Sue shares hers to inspire and support those struggling with emotional abuse and suicidal thoughts. Her story is truly inspiring and insightful.
