Zimbabwe Assemblies Of God Africa Forward In Faith Ministries International massive soul winning campaigns dubbed “Good News Deliverance Explo” have become instrumental in addressing the menace of drug and substance abuse in the country, with many youths abandoning the act and choosing to follow Jesus Christ.
Speaking about how the massive gospel outreach has been transforming lives, renowned gospel preacher Evangelist Doglous Bvunzawabaya expressed their commitment as a church through evangelism to stand with the government of Zimbabwe in snatching young people from the pit of drug and substance abuse saying that when one gets transformed spiritually, it becomes easy for that person to quit drugs.
“Drugs are causing havoc in our nation and in different nations and it is affecting future generations. The devil is attacking the generation through drugs.The government is doing what it can by establishing places where people can go for assistance, it is trying to control drug and substance abuse.
“However, we are also trying to ensure that we address the inner man or the spiritual man so that when you are out of this danger, even if you go for rehabilitation, you can receive assistance.Good News Deliverance Explo has come up with a remedy that can help you overcome drug and substance abuse. I want to assure you that when you accept Jesus into your life, your life can change,”he said
He further shared a message of hope to the victims of drugs saying “I want you to know that they might have labeled you useless because of the life you are living because of drugs, they have kicked you outside their home because you are a drug addict, there is restoration with Jesus Christ.
“I want to assure you that you can come out of drug and alcohol abuse, it is very possible that we can have a future good generation.Galatians 5:21says Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
“Receive Jesus Christ so that you can inherit the kingdom of God,”he added
A survey conducted by Zimgospelmasters magazine in Chitungwiza from 16 to 19 September 2025 the period during which ZAOGA FIFMI has been hosting one of its Good News Deliverance Explos has revealed that many young people were attending the services, which is a sign that the outreach has been instrumental in touching young people across Zimbabwe.
Some of the parents in Chitungwiza commended the pentecostal movement for such pivotal campaigns saying that spiritual approach is also necessary to eradicate the ill.
“As parents we are so happy here in Chitungwiza.The word of God changes the mind of a person.When our children hear the word of God, they will begin to think positively and fear to do what is not right,”said Mrs Ncube
“As a father, I do not spend most of my time home because of work and by that time that I am not home, that is when our children temper and experiment with drugs ending up taking them non-stop.I am grateful that the crusades are coming into our area, at least if they hear the word of God they have something to keep them in the right track,”he said.
