People with disabilities continue to get opportunities to participate in sporting activities with the recently held Danhiko Paralympic games offered a good exposure to gifted individuals to showcase their exceptional talents.
The games took place from 19 to 22 September. The teams that participated include Danhiko, Wolves, Richwood, Golden girls and Zambia.
The National Disability Policy(NDP) of 2021 Section 3.5 states that sporting interests, talents and skills of persons with disabilities must be promoted and supported. It further states that opportunities for persons with disabilities to organize, develop and participate in disability specific sporting activities must be created.
