President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe is poised to participate in the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) Summit, slated for February 17th to 18th, 2024, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The announcement was made via a press release from The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
Themed “Boosting Africa’s Transformation through Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation,” the summit aims to fortify partnerships among AU member states to cultivate resilient education systems and inclusive learning across the continent.
The focus on advancing education, particularly in science and technology, aligns with Agenda 263, expediting Africa’s developmental endeavors.
In addition to educational initiatives, leaders will address pressing security concerns, notably in West Africa, where unconstitutional changes of governments have destabilized regions.
The summit will also deliberate Africa’s role in global peace efforts, particularly amidst the Israel-Hamas conflict.
For Zimbabwe, the summit offers a vital platform to engage with fellow AU nations on developmental, peacekeeping, and integration strategies.
Bilateral and multilateral discussions will facilitate the exchange of mutual interests, fostering beneficial outcomes for all participating member states.
Zimbabwe looks forward to constructive collaboration and shared progress at the upcoming AU Summit.
