Representatives from the Australian Embassy and Act for Peace recently visited Runyararo settlement to witness the impactful work being carried out by their partner, ZCCinZim, in collaboration with the Government of Zimbabwe under the Strengthening Protection and Resilience of Persons Displaced by Cyclone IDAI project.

With the generous support of the Australian Government and Australian churches, the program is making significant strides in improving the lives of communities in and around Runyararo settlement in ward 7, Chimanimani.
Key interventions include the provision of clean and safe water, dissemination of hygiene information, strengthening protection mechanisms, and empowering small businesses to enhance incomes.
Established by the government to accommodate households displaced by Cyclone IDAI in Chimanimani district, Runyararo settlement has resettled over 400 households to date.
The support provided by the Australian Embassy and Act for Peace is instrumental in facilitating the rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in the area.
Additionally, through initiatives like Sports for Peace, the Runyararo and surrounding communities are experiencing enhanced peace, community cohesiveness, and unity.
These activities further contribute to the holistic development and resilience-building efforts in the region.
