Despite the pain that we go through as women, we must let the pain go so that we become what God called us to be, Pastor Tatenda Lillian, a social entrepreneur, certified counsellor, has said addressing Heart to Heart meeting in Harare.

‘’ When you do not let go of all the pain, you will never become the person God called you to be because when God deposits something in you, it leaks as you are not allowing yourself to let the pain go away. Sometimes, just say to God I want what you want and not what I want and when something happens say this is what you want so let it be for I know that at the end of the day there is purpose and victory,’’ said Pastor Tatenda.

She also urged women to do what God wants and not what they want because when you do what God wants, there is victory and purpose in whatever that you go through.

She said that it is alright not to be strong, so allow yourself to be vulnerable and tell God that I am not strong anymore so allow yourself to feel the pain, if you want to cry, cry out do not be afraid to be judged.

No matter what you are going through, there is a place that God called you, go to that place and when you know God, he is supposed to be the one you talk to and remember there is purpose to everything for your pain will never be wasted.

‘’Whatever that you are going through it is not by mistake. Your pain will never be wasted so allow yourself to be vulnerable and let go of the suffering,’’ she said.

Coming to the issue of relationships, Pastor Tatenda urged girls to not run away from their problems by getting into early child marriages. She emphasized that early child marriages tend to create more problems for women in their future, therefore it is important to deal with your childhood trauma first, let go of all your suffering and then start a new journey knowing where you are going. She also urged young women pick their future partners wisely. One must go for a man that truly loves them, because going for a man that do not love you back is a detrimental mistake a lot of young women make.

‘’Deal with the pain that you are going through first no matter how difficult it is, accept what you are going through and move on. Do not run to a man and use marriage as a tool to run away from your problems because at the end of the day you will lose all your dreams, your identity and ambitions,” she said.

Sharing her journey, she said she was constantly told that she was not worthy and qualified, but today through her identity in Christ she knows that she is valuable and qualified. She finally got her voice and today she uses it to empower women to believe in what God placed within them.

She also highlighted that sometimes as women we tend to be in agreement with all the negative things people say about who we are. But what is important is for us to believe what God has spoken over our lives, and not allow ourselves to drown in doubt because of our painful life experiences.

Tazivashe Marima, a passionate public speaker and storyteller reminded women at the meeting that they are God’s masterpiece. She reminded women that everything ever went through has made them the strong women that they are today.

“You would not be the person you are today if you had not gone through what you went through yesterday.”

Refined Hearts is a movement to empower women and girls to realize their purpose and fufill their dreams. Chipo Paradzai, the founder says she got the idea from God. She noticed that on the journey of women and girls trying to fufill their dreams they can be hindered by childhood trauma, heartbreaks and pain, therefore it is important to adress these issues and equip them to be whole and healed in order for them to thrive in their individual purposes.
