The Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe (AFM) President, Bishop Dr. Amon Madawo has urged gospel ministers and believers to pursue education expressing that education attracts dignity, respect and positions one for levels of influence.
In his presentation during the Shiloh Education Expo hosted on 6 July 2025 at Shiloh Word Miracle Centers in Malbelreign in Harare, Bishop Madawo revealed that the calling of God which is combined with education brings effectiveness of the servants of God in the ministry.
“Education strengthens spiritual service when combined with revelational calling. Acts 5:34 Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space;35 And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.
“The scripture shows us that education positions individuals to guide and lead with wisdom. Also, another example is that of Peter and Paul. Paul made impact than Peter in the ministry because his calling and anointing was linked with education. So today I am encouraging you all to grow, expand and increase in education,” he said.
He further advised believers to continue advancing their education regardless of age or discipline saying that having credentials in life offers career opportunities and promotion prospects among others.
“There is no age limit for one to pursue education. Education creates better job opportunities and economic stability; it further builds stronger and more informed communities. Without education your chances of rising are limited,” he added.
Meanwhile, some of the believers who shared their sentiments about the teaching expressed that the teaching was so inspiring especially during this fast-changing world.
Dereck Nyoka said “The teaching was so powerful; indeed, education commands understanding and leads to the enlightenment of consciousness. The Bible says my people are destroyed because of the lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the principle of your God, I also will forget your children,” he said.
Vimbai Shonhiwa said “Indeed I have learnt today that we should pursue education and that we should pursue it not for recognition but for responsibility,” she said.
The Shiloh Education Expo intended to inspire and motivate children and members to value and pursue education and to showcase the importance of education in life.
