At the Embracing Change seminar hosted by Pastor Tapuwanashe Venon Chamba, esteemed entrepreneur Mr. Stephen Margolis, founder of Stephen Margolis Resort, encouraged business owners to cultivate a persistent mindset. By embracing perseverance, he stressed, entrepreneurs can overcome obstacles, achieve their goals, and successful businesses.
“Success in business requires determination and persistence”, he said.
He also noted that spreading business interests through diversification is a wise investment in one’s future.
“Diversifying your business is crucial for long-term success”
Additionally, he advised entrepreneurs to maintain a personal connection to their work and to prioritize developing high-quality products before launching marketing campaigns.
“It’s essential to develop and refine a quality product that meets the needs of your target audience before investing in marketing efforts,” he said.
In an interview with Zimgospel Masters, Pastor Venon Chamba, convener of the Venon Chamba Business Seminar, revealed that one of the key motivations behind starting these seminars was the alarming rate of youth drug addiction, largely resulting from idle minds and lack of purposeful.
“I noticed that here in Zimbabwe, there is a heavy number of teenagers who are into drugs because they have nothing to do.”
“Hosting business seminars was a way to dwindle the rate at which youths are getting into drugs. Youths are supposed to be taught how to start businesses so that they have meaningful activities to keep them occupied,” he added.
He also emphasized that these seminars aim to equip Christians with practical knowledge, dispelling the misconception that financial success solely depends on prayer and fasting. Instead, he stressed that wealth is a result of a systematic approach, where hard work and smart decisions are rewarded.
“A lot of Christian believers think that when they embark on a 40-day prayer and fasting, they can make money. However, poverty does not respond to prayer and fasting. You can only make money when you start doing business.”
Meanwhile, he said Christians require education, empowerment, and guidance with accurate information to succeed in business.
