Caps United is building up spiritually ahead of the new season, as they hosted evangelist Trymore Muparinga who prayed for team at the training ground in Harare.
Apart from trusting God as their source of strength, the club has been working tirelessly at the break to build from technical staff to a lower level.
Another notable achievement is that CAPS United has strengthened its squad ahead of the 2026 season, confirming the signing of 12 new players across all positions. The club, determined to challenge for domestic honours, has added a mix of experienced campaigners and young talents.
Among the new arrivals are defenders Nyasha Gurende, Talent Chamboko, and Kudzai Chigwida, midfield reinforcements Lloyd Njaliwa, McDonald Makuwe, Bret Amidu, and Richard Hachiro, as well as forwards Obriel Chirinda, Chawanangwa Kaonga, and Delic Murimba. The club also secured winger Davison Marowa and goalkeeper Wallace Magalane.
The signings reflect CAPS United’s intent to build a balanced squad capable of competing on multiple fronts. Club officials have highlighted the importance of blending youth and experience to maintain competitiveness in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League.
Fans will be eager to see how the new recruits integrate with the existing squad as pre-season preparations ramp up. With reinforcements across defence, midfield, and attack, CAPS United is signaling its ambition to mount a strong challenge in the 2026 campaign.
In terms of financial strength the club secured a major sponsorship deal worth US$4.3 million with Lesotho-based Green Dollar Development Bank. The three-year agreement, starting January 2026, will provide the club with US$1.1 million annually, plus two luxury buses. This partnership aims to boost CAPS United’s finances, strengthen player welfare and enhance infrastructure and youth development programs.
The sponsorship is seen as a significant endorsement of CAPS United’s management and integrity. Club president Farai Jere expressed gratitude, stating it’s a “big boost” and the beginning of new opportunities, with other sponsors likely to follow.
