The donation made by Cornerstone Church led by Pastor Broom to Teen Rescue Mission has given a big relief to the young people’s poultry project which has been facing chicken feed challenges since January.
The donation which came in form of 15 by 50kgs chicken feed has been described as a major boost to the project as it is expected to revive and boost the yield of eggs which has been declining daily due to a shortage of feed.
Speaking at the handover ceremony,Pastor David Broom vowed his church’s commitment to assisting young people in Chitungwiza and areas around as a way of dealing with drug abuse and youth crimes.
“We will keep supporting this noble cause, empowering our youths to live a life free from drugs. We also remain determined to guide of young people towards focusing on our Lord Jesus Christ.
Meanwhile,TRM Director Abraham Matuka expressed gratitude to the churches that responded to their plea for assistance.
“We were overwhelmed with the support from Cornerstone Church, facilitated by Pastor David Broom, who shared our story with fellow churches. This generous donation of chicken feed has saved our project, which benefits over 20 youths, including former drug addicts, orphans, and teen mothers.
“We are hopeful that our yield of eggs is going to improve again,”he said
TRM also equips young people with catering, dressmaking and welding skills among others.
