HARARE, Zimbabwe – Women leaders from various ecumenical backgrounds convened yesterday at the Kentucky Hotel in Hatfield for a transformative leadership development training aimed at empowering women to drive social change and contribute to national dialogue, peace, and good governance.

Under the theme “Activating Women Leaders for Social Transformation,” the training program kicked off with an ambitious agenda designed to equip participants with key leadership principles, enhance essential communication skills, and foster effective decision-making strategies.
The three-day event, scheduled from May 15th to May 17th, 2024, promises a comprehensive exploration of leadership dynamics, providing women with the tools and knowledge needed to effect positive change in their communities and beyond.
“We are excited to embark on this journey of empowerment and growth,” remarked one of the participants. “This training represents an invaluable opportunity for us to strengthen our leadership capabilities and amplify our voices as agents of change.”
Facilitated sessions will cover a wide range of topics, including leadership theory, conflict resolution, advocacy, and strategic planning. Participants will engage in interactive workshops, group discussions, and practical exercises, fostering a dynamic learning environment conducive to personal and collective growth.
“With a focus on social transformation, our aim is to cultivate a new generation of women leaders who are equipped to address pressing societal issues and champion inclusive and sustainable development,” summarised the organisers.
The venue, Kentucky Hotel, situated at 27 St Patricks Rd in Hatfield, Harare, provides a conducive setting for learning and collaboration, offering modern facilities and amenities to accommodate the needs of participants throughout the training program.
The training sessions will run from 0800 to 1600 hours each day, allowing ample time for participants to immerse themselves fully in the learning experience while also networking and forging connections with fellow women leaders from diverse backgrounds.
As the training unfolds, participants are expected to emerge with newfound skills, insights, and confidence to navigate complex leadership challenges and drive positive change in their respective spheres of influence.
