Johane Masowe eChishanu Graspa from Glen Norah in Harare, led by Madzibaba Tebenege, visited those behind bars at Harare Remand Prison and Central Prison on the New Year to equip them with spiritual nourishment before providing basic things that they might need.
Guided by the Holy Spirit, Madzibaba Tebenege and his congregants sought to minister to inmates, providing them not only with spiritual nourishment but also with tangible support.
Their mission was clear: to offer prayers for rehabilitation and redemption while addressing the basic needs of those in confinement.
“We were sent by the Holy Spirit to pray for the deliverance of offenders and the redemption of the innocent. Many people are trapped by evil deeds, and through prayer, they can be set free and transformed,” said Madzibaba Tebenege.
The visit began at Harare Remand Prison, where those awaiting trial reside. Inmates eagerly gathered as Madzibaba Tebenege led powerful prayers, calling on the Holy Spirit to bring healing and hope.
He prayed for the redemption of those wrongfully accused and a second chance for those who had committed offenses.
The congregation then proceeded to Harare Central Prison, home to individuals serving their sentences. Here, the message of deliverance resonated even deeper as inmates took the rare opportunity to actively participate in prayer sessions.
The church did not come empty-handed. Madzibaba Tebenege led the distribution of hampers containing water buckets and a variety of basic necessities. This gesture symbolized their commitment to both spiritual and physical well-being, offering a message of care and solidarity.
