Teen Rescue Mission’s 2000 sanitary wear drive has received a major boost following a donation of USD$500 from Joina City on Monday afternoon,at an event that took place at Joina City.

Speaking during the handover ceremony,Joina City Marketing Co-ordinator Evelyn Dera vowed support for the restoration of girls’ dignity and youth empowerment saying that as Joina City they value young people’s influence to their daily operations.

“We are excited to support TRM mission on their 2000 pad-drive with USD$500.We   desire to see our young people doing well.

“Joina City has become a place of tourism attraction and I can tell you that many young people visit our place a lot.So as an act of Corporate Social Responsibility and also to show that we cherish our young people for their love towards Joina City,we are also rallying behind this pad-drive.We wish TRM well  in everything that they are doing for young people and communities,”she said

TRM Director Abraham Matuka commended the gesture saying “We are out of words because of this gesture.Indeed it’s a major boost to our campaign. It has given us hope that we can reach our target of 2000 sanitary wear for the girls.

“We are grateful to Joina City for giving us a hand as we aim to restore girls dignity towards youth empowerement as well,”said Matuka

Meanwhile, incoming Juniour Councillor for Harare Munashe Ndoro said “This support will significantly enhance our efforts to empower and support the girl child in our nation as we are to do two programs centred on the girl child that is raising more than 2000 sanitary pads and the walkathon and marathon to be hosted on the 11 October 2025 at ZB Sport Club Borrowdale,Harare.

This donation demonstrates Joina City’s commitment to social responsibility and youth empowerment. We are grateful for your vision and leadership in driving positive change in young people,”he said

The outgoing Junior Councillor Faith Alumenda expressed the significance of full support for the girl child saying that it creates an environment for them to thrive.

“The Pad-me campaign is more than just a charity event,it is a mission to empower vulnerable young girls in need. With the support of Joina City ,we are making strides towards providing vulnerable young girls with the necessary tools and resources to thrive.

“I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to Joina City for their generous donation,it shows their strong sense of giving back to the community.Together, we can empower vulnerable girls to succeed, dream, and become future leaders,”she said

The donation ceremony will be taking place on 11 October during the commemorations of the International Day of the Girl Child.
