It is not time wasting to sharpen an axe but it enhances its ability and capacity, Methodist Church ministers took time at Tamarind in Kariba for spiritual revival and a moment of reflection on strategy, a Ministers’ School themed ‘’Remain in Christ’’ a platform where they have a chance and time to encourage one another to remain faithful and focused to the higher calling and be geared for the mission ahead to be accomplished in line with the church’s strategic plan.
It is a special moment for ministers to be away from their daily challenges of duty so as to be sharpened for duty. Pastors meet spirit dampening challenges, disheartening experiences and temptation that may derail their zeal to serve. Sharing experiences and encouraging one another as ministers is a vital to revitalise the sense of mission. Through the power of prayer, teaching and testimony, positive results are yielded as ministers will go out rejuvenated, high in spirit and great zeal to the mission demands.
Jesus used to have solitary time for prayer and empowerment. Such times empowered him to conquer. Jesus spent forty days and night in the desert in prayer and connecting with the power of God and vision (Matthew 4). He conquered the devil there afterwards; he had every answer for the devil. After having a set apart time with few disciples, Just comes down the mountain, he is met with a boy with a spirit, he conquered (Luke 9: 37-42).
