Addressing delegates at the ceremony, the guest of honour, Bishop Sinikiwe Munembe saluted Power Centre Global visionaries, Apostle Duncan and Pastor Sheila Manyonda, for their ministerial work despite many challenges over the years.
“We are here today to launch and commission Power Centre in Zimbabwe, which was founded by Apostle Duncan Manyonda together with his wife Pastor Sheila.
They have laboured for this vision through various seasons and we praise the Lord for where they are now,” he said.
Bishop Munembe said Power Centre was not built through the power of man but that of God.
“A real power centre cannot be built from the power of man. This really got me excited. I then saw on the final invitation that Apostle Manyonda mentioned that Power Centre was not a human agenda but a God mandate,” she said.
“So, it is about God. It cannot be done without Him, neither can it be done outside the provision of His grace and power.”
Bishop Chidavaenzi and his wife took the oath of office during which they swore to commit themselves fully to do justice to all, to serve the church with integrity and faithfulness, yielding themselves to the guidance and direction of the executive leadership.
The ceremony was attended by several church leaders from various denominations, with seasoned gospel musicians including Jesu Ari Pano hitmaker, Pastor Josh Kays,
Minister Blessing Jeduthan, Minister Wenyasha Chingono and Minister Audrey Chenai taking to the stage.
Power Centre was founded in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2018. Between 2020 and 2022 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, it operated as a virtual church, running online church services due to the lockdown. It then re-launched in November last year after the lifting of the pandemic embargo.
