The Apostolic and Zion churches have received a US$200,000 revolving facility under the Presidential Empowerment Fund, unveiled with the aim of enhancing various projects at an event held at the International Conference in Harare.
The fund is designed to support income-generating projects and elevate grassroots participation in Zimbabwe’s inclusive development agenda.
Delivering the package on behalf of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Presidential Investment Advisor Dr. Paul Tungwarara described the fund as a transformative seed.
“The President has sent me to come and give you an empowerment fund of US$200,000. Everything has a starting point—it’s not about starting with a huge amount.
“This is a seed coming from the President. You therefore need to go and plant this seed and water it with prayers, and you will see it will blossom,” Dr. Tungwarara told the congregation.

The announcement was received with deep appreciation by Vapostori4ED Chairperson Madzibaba Moses Gwasira, who emphasized the inclusive intent behind the gesture.
“We are grateful to receive this gift from the president of the republic of Zimbabwe Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa, he indeed has people at heart, he doesn’t discriminate people. We are going to sit down and plan accordingly,” he said.
This is not the first time we have heard of the president having interactions and support with Apostolic sects. He regularly visits the Johane Marange Church in Bocha, Mafararikwa, among others.
Earlier this year this year he also honoured apostolic sect leader Moses Gwasarira with a commemorative plaque which has been placed on the walls of the Church of Nativity in Bethlehem.
