As Zimbabwe Republic Police, we have realized that fighting crime without pastors’ inclusion, policing will be very difficult and vanity because with God everything is possible, Commissioner T. Nyazema, Officer Commanding Police Mash-West Province has said during the graduation of 49 pastors of various denominations as Christian Community Police Network (CCPN) members in Karoi on 20 December 2025.
“The Bible says, “Unless the builder builds the house, its builders labour in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain.” We have gathered here to celebrate seeing ZRP and servants of God unite in fighting against crime and sin. Pastors play a vital role in building a vital components of the spiritual side and good character of a person. This is fighting crime and sin using the word of God because with God nothing is impossible.
“Fighting crime with the word of God fight moral decadence, social unrest and builds the spirit of a person which is very important component in policing. Without pastors, policing will be difficult and in vain, “said Commissioner Nyazema.
The course covered the following subjects including introduction to chaplaincy, drug abuse, marriage, birth certificate and death registration; police duties and community policing; domestic violence and sexual crimes; pastoral ethics; inheritance laws and community engagement.
“We appreciate this initiative because it binds the community and its police force using the word of God. As the police personnel, they have spiritual challenges that need God, the prisoners need God, and therefore, such a partnership is commendable because God will help us. I believe we are going to be useful to the community because the course content answers some of the community challenges.” said one of the CCPN graduates.
During this event, the vulnerable families received Christmas hampers.
The vibrant Champion Gwande School brass band and an energetic praising team provided music to this great function attended by high ranking police personnel, business community, and relatives of the graduates.
