“We celebrate the remarkable efforts of Mazowe High School, the School Development Committee to improve the school amenities and create a conducive atmosphere suitable for learning and teaching in Mashonaland Central Province. Considering that education is the cornerstone of a progressive and prosperous society, it is through education that we empower our young people, equip them with knowledge and prepare them to face the challenges of the future.

“The establishment of this Advanced Level centre reflects our unwavering commitment to nurturing excellency and enabling our students to reach their full potential and it signifies a significance step forward in our educational landscape. It is designed to offer a conducive environment for Advanced Level studies, providing specialized resources, state of the art facilities and curriculum that promotes critical thinking, creativity and innovation,” said Moyo

The state of art A Level complex comprises of 14 learning classrooms and 18 administration offices and has been completed at a tune of USD$1.7 million. Minister Torerai Moyo commended the church for joining forces with the government towards achieving the vision 2030 of attaining an upper-middle income society through adapting to some of the national dictates which include the Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4) which strives to provide equitable, inclusive and quality education.

“The government of Zimbabwe has made total commitment and dedication to promoting and upscaling educational standards in our schools since this year has been declared the year of African education by the African Union (AU). As a ministry we have a total commitment to ensure that in our education system all learners including those with disabilities are not left out as per the new dispensation’s mantra of leaving no place and no-one behind.

Speaking at the same occasion, The Salvation Army Chief Secretary for education Colonel Tineyi Mambo vowed the church’s commitment to continued provision of social responsibilities in the country.

“Improving access to education is one of our biggest social responsibilities in the country. The services that we also offer include support for the young, aged and victims of both natural and artificial disasters. We have many programmes coming up that are meant to improve access to education in different communities and soon we will invite you.The church should rightly be at the centre of all educational endeavours and the structure that is being commissioned today fits into our strategic plan to ensure that our schools have a fit for purpose buildings which enable them to fulfil the demands of the updated curriculum,” said Mambo.

It is going to bring life-transforming skills to our learners in this province.I want to thank The Salvation Army and the parents for the great work they are doing. This really shows that we are having quality education at this school which will improve results in the Province hence improving livelihoods,”he said
