Victorious Generation International Church founder, Prophet Kudakwashe Jose, has warned some Zimbabwean gospel musicians against drinking beer and taking drugs while on ministry duty.
Prophet Jose issued the warning in a recent sermon, where he said such habits are unacceptable in Christianity and bring the gospel music ministry into disrepute.
He said musicians must desist from drinking and drug abuse, noting that the behavior contradicts the message they preach through song.
“Such habits are not good and are not acceptable in Christianity,” Prophet Jose said. “It puts people in confusion because people begin to see that their singing is not tallying with their character. Do not be drunkards!”
The prophet said gospel musicians are role models to many and their conduct both on and off stage should reflect Christian values.
He urged musicians to maintain holiness, discipline and upright living if their ministrations are to have a positive impact on believers. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 states that the unrighteousness including the sexually immoral, thieves, the greedy, and drunkards will not inherit the kingdom
