One of the oldest indigenous apostolic church, Mugodhi has joined together in the mourning of retired vice bishop Munodawafa who was died last week.
Posting on their socials the leadership said,
“As Mugodhi Apostolic Church we join the religious fraternity in mourning our loyal retired vice Bishop Aaron Munodawafa who dedicated all his life to Christ. Retired Vice Bishop Munodawafa worked so hard as a prophet in our church and he took over the leadership of Gutu after the death of then Leader Mufundisi Mukarati.”
“To put the record straight the retired Vice Bishop never harbour an ambitions to be called Bishop meaning those calling him Bishop are doing it for their selfish and sinister agent.”
Aaron Munodawafa retired from the post of vice Bishop due to old age and his children humbly came to the late Bishop Tadewu Mugodhi requesting him to allow them to take their Father to live with them in Gokwe after the death of his wife and they said no one is able to take of him since he was now too old to take care of himself.
On the Funeral announcement letter signed by one Nobson Bandirai the letter head inserted above purports that Aaron Munodawafa is one of the Founding Bishops of Mugodhi Apostolic Church which is a total fallacy and malicious since he has never been part of that Hierarchy.
During Retirement Vice Bishop Munodawafa willingly handed over his bible and Tsvimbo to Pastor Mabaiwa as a sign of annointment to lead the Gutu Area.
Bishop Aaron Munodawafa (111) was the revered leader of the Mugodhi Apostolic Faith Church in Zimbabwe, who passed away from natural causes at his son’s home in Gokwe in January 2026. He assumed leadership in 2019, following the death of Tadeau Mugodhi and was known for his wisdom and compassion.
He was the leader (Bishop) of the Mugodhi Apostolic Faith Church (MAFC) from 2019 until his death. He was a prominent figure in one of Zimbabwe’s largest apostolic movements.
