Our theme Iron sharpens iron seeks to encourage each men help others and also seek to learn from others so that we become better in serving others and God. Coming together in this manner, we must leave this place better than we arrived here and be ready to advance the kingdom of God.
This Zimbabwe Zambia (ZimZam) relationship seeks to strengthen men to serve God better as we learn from each other. The sacrifice made to make this gathering a reality. We salute Zambia for travelling this long journey and this sacrifice must not go in vain. Attending this rally is an investment in one’s spiritual life and is not in vain.
This rally is a spiritual workshop where men should learn, worship, discuss and allow the Holy Spirit to speak. Avoid isolation so that we strengthen and encourage one another because “two are better than one.”
In today’s world, as men, we are being challenged to become vessels of honour, loving husbands and responsible fathers. Like Joseph, we need to decide and emphasise the importance of resisting temptation and protecting one’s integrity. The stories of David and Bathsheba; and that of Samson serve as warning beacons against allowing temptation to destroy one’s calling.
Peter’s walking on water was successful but when his attention was captured, he started to sink. As a Christian, what is capturing your attention? What captures our attention can distract us from achieving God’s purpose.
This is a time when each generation of men must deliberately learn from each other and sharpen one another.
As men, we need to deepen our faith and return to our Corps stronger and more visible in service. Our success only possible if we base ourselves on Isaiah 40:31, that encourages to wait upon the Lord and rise like eagles above our challenges.
