Good morning! Today we join the rest of the world as as we celebrate Epiphany today, a day of joy and hope.
As we reflect on this day, let us look to the words of scripture from Isaiah 60:1-3: “Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you. Nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.”

On this day of Epiphany, let us consider three key ideas.
First, that light will overcome darkness.
This is a concept that can be found throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation.
In Genesis, we read that “God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light” (Genesis 1:3). In Revelation 21:23, we read that “the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light.”
This idea of light overcoming darkness is a recurring theme in scripture and in Epiphany we celebrate the fact that God’s light is more powerful than any darkness.
Second, that God’s glory will be seen on us.
As Isaiah 60:2 states, “the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you.”
We are called to be a reflection of God’s glory in this world. We are called to shine God’s light into the darkness and let others see His glory through us.
We can take comfort in knowing that we are not alone in this task as Psalm 34:5 reminds us that “those who look to him are radiant” and that His “face is against those who do evil.”
And third, that we are called to share our light with the world.
The passage from Isaiah 60:3 states that “nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.”
Just as Jesus’s disciples were called to go out into all the world and share His message, we too are called to be witnesses of God’s love and grace to those around us.
Through our words and actions we can be a reflection of God’s light to those who need it most.
On this day of Epiphany, let us remember that light will overcome darkness, God’s glory will be seen on us, and we are called to share our light with the world.
Let us go forth with joy and hope, trusting in the power of God’s light to guide us in our lives and our mission.
