When things seem to be against you trust in the Lord

My beloved brothers and sisters, I want to start by sharing a personal story with you which showed me that when things get tough trust in God. When I was just a young boy, I remember a particular moment that has stayed with me ever since.

It was late at night, and I was standing in my bedroom looking out the window. It was a full moon, and the stars twinkled in the sky. I remember feeling so small, looking out into the vastness of the night sky and feeling overwhelmed by it all.

I felt so insignificant, and yet I knew that God was there, that whatever I was facing, He was watching over me.

It was in that moment that I realised just how powerful it is to trust in the Lord. When we are faced with obstacles or when things seem to be against us, we can take comfort in knowing that God is always there.

We can trust in Him and have faith that He will show us the way.

This is the big idea we want to share with you today: when things seem to be against you, trust in the Lord. To better understand this idea, let’s look at three key points.

Trusting in the Lord gives us courage.

In Psalm 27:14, it says, “Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the Lord.” We can take courage in knowing that God will never leave our side. No matter what we’re facing, He will always be there to guide us and give us strength.

Trusting in the Lord gives us peace.

In Philippians 4:6-7 it says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” When we put our trust in the Lord, we can find peace and comfort in knowing that He will take care of us.

Trusting in the Lord gives us hope.

In Romans 15:13 it says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

When we trust in the Lord, we can have hope for the future because we know that He has a plan for us.

My beloved brothers and sisters, when things seem to be against you, remember to trust in the Lord. He will never leave your side and will always show you the way. So take courage, find peace, and have hope in Him. As Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” When life throws obstacles your way, never forget to trust in the Lord – He will always guide you through like a lighthouse in a stormy sea.
