Good morning friends! Today we want to talk to you about a new beginning, a new start.
2 Corinthians 5:17″Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”
As we read in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” This simple verse is one of the most powerful and influential verses in the Bible.

It speaks of a transformation, a renewal, and a brand-new start. When we accept Jesus into our lives, we are given a new start.
We are given a fresh start, free from all of our past mistakes and hardships. In the book of Luke, Jesus said “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
We can take this as an invitation to start anew and to free ourselves from our past burdens. We can also look to the story of Jesus and the woman at the well in John 4.
In that passage, Jesus offers her living water and tells her that she will no longer thirst.
This is symbolic of a brand-new start for the woman. She can leave her past behind and begin anew with Jesus. We too can start fresh with Jesus and leave our past behind.
Another example of a new beginning is found in Acts 9 when Saul was converted to Christianity.
Saul was a persecutor of the early church and was on his way to Damascus with authority to capture followers of Jesus. But something incredible happened on that journey – Saul encountered Jesus.
In that moment, Saul was transformed and given a new beginning, a new life as a follower of Jesus. Just like Saul, we too can have a new life when we accept Jesus into our hearts.
As we look ahead to the New Year, now is the time to embrace a new beginning. We have been given the chance to start anew and to live life in the light of God’s love.
As we start this year with a fresh perspective, let us take comfort in knowing that God is with us every step of the way.
This morning, we invite you to accept Jesus into your life and start this year with a new beginning, a new start. God bless you all!
