Youths under the banner of Like Christ Interdenominational Ministry led by Minister Tatenda Takambirwa Chibhamu have launched the philanthropic arm which aims at assisting the elderly and the vulnerable group of the community.
The arm will be used as one of the Ministry’s tools for soul winning and incorporating youths into evangelism.
Speaking after the launch of the arm, ahead of the first donations ceremony set for 8 June 2024,one of the representatives of Like Christ Interdenominational Ministry Evangelist Rita Praise Kalinde expressed their greatest desire to bring relief to those who are lacking food and basic commodities especially in rural areas and peri-urban areas while saying that charity has been one of the core values of Christianity.
“We are excited to have launched our charity arm as a group. We are mostly targeting the less privileged and the old people because some of them do not have people who can take care of them.
“In our efforts we are also targeting the youths to surrender their lives to the Lord since some of them are now entangled and addicted to drugs,”she said
Speaking about their forthcoming first outreach programme,Kalinde revealed that 30 beneficiaries have already been identified for the first batch of donations which will take place on 8 June in Goromonzi.
“Very true we will be going to Goromonzi on 8 June and we are targeting about 30 beneficiaries. We are going to give them hampers with grocery items which include sugar and soaps among others,” she added
The Youth movement was established to advance the gospel of Christ through youthful activities such as revivals, braai, sporting, youth camps and get together among others.
