Local Community Unites for ‘Run to Educate a Child’ Half Marathon

In a heartwarming display of community spirit and solidarity, residents of Mt Pleasant and beyond came together on March 16, 2024, to participate in the highly anticipated “Run to Educate a Child” half marathon and aerobics event.

Hosted by Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, the event aimed to raise funds for educational initiatives benefiting underprivileged children within the community.

The event kicked off bright and early at 05:30 AM at the picturesque venue of Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church on Pendennis Rd. Participants were treated to complimentary transportation provided by Extracity Luxury, ensuring easy access to the event.

With enthusiasm and determination, over 450 runners of all ages and fitness levels lined up at the starting line, eager to embark on their journey. As the sun rose overhead, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement and anticipation.

Simultaneously, within the parish grounds, attendees engaged in invigorating aerobics sessions led by GoFit and Zumba instructors trained by the renowned Zorro.

The pulsating beats of music echoed through the air as participants danced and moved in sync, showcasing their commitment to fitness and philanthropy.

Throughout the event, participants were not only treated to a memorable experience but also received exclusive perks, including commemorative t-shirts, medals upon completion, and refreshing refreshments to refuel their energy.

Additionally, the Wayside Health Team provided complimentary health check-ups, ensuring the well-being of all attendees.

Reflecting on the significance of the event, organizers emphasized the importance of supporting education for disadvantaged children.

By participating in the “Run to Educate a Child” half marathon and aerobics event, community members demonstrated their dedication to making a tangible difference in the lives of those less fortunate.

As participants crossed the finish line with smiles of accomplishment, the true impact of the event became evident.

Through their collective efforts, the community had come together to raise vital funds for educational initiatives, providing hope and opportunities for a brighter future for underprivileged children.
