St. Mary’s Queen of Peace Sub-Parish celebrated Valentine’s Day with a special mass and homily by Father Majuta, emphasizing the true significance of the day and the importance of emulating the art of love and selflessness.
During the homily, Father Majuta highlighted the story of St. Valentine, who dedicated his life to the art of love, and encouraged the congregation to follow in his footsteps. He also reminded the faithful to trust in God, even in the face of challenges and temptations, citing the biblical story of Babylon as a cautionary tale.
The celebration also marked several milestones within the parish, including the baptism of a new member, the induction of four new members into the Zvita Zvevakuru guilds, and the recognition of eighteen youths joining different stages of the youths’ guilds.
Father Majuta encouraged the newly inducted guild members to maintain good character and represent the church in all their endeavors, emphasizing the importance of the youths’ guilds in the life of the church.
The celebration was attended by parishioners of all ages, who came together to worship, learn, and celebrate their faith.
