Reverend Cossam Chiangwa, president of the Apostolic Faith Mission of Zimbabwe (AFMOZ), taught the people gathered at the National Ladies Conference 2025 that they are mandated to stand and honour their leaders for their churches to grow.
Addressing thousands of attendees at the annual Victory Conference, he said, “Stick to your mentors, stand with them, respect them. Do not mock them; stay with them in peace, and you will see the church rising.”
“Fighting against someone ordained by God is mocking God. Aaron and Miriam were older than Moses, but God pointed to Moses. They started to mock him during his absence. God heard it and cursed Miriam with leprosy; she spent several days outside the house.”
“After obeying, the spirit of the Lord will descend upon your church. Stay with the helpers; do not form groups or gossip against them. Grow as a Christian.”
The conference was held at Mufaro Mushagashe in Masvingo from May 1 to May 4, 2025, featuring many preachers, both women and men, lined up for the event.
On the third day of the conference, Amai Chiangwa, the wife of the president, preached in the evening. She began by acknowledging the leadership for recognising women in their church and the opportunities they are receiving from them.
Taking her preaching from Joshua 21:43, which was the theme scripture of the Victory Conference, she told the attendees that one cannot be called a victor without encountering problems.
“You can’t talk of victory if you don’t encounter any predicaments. Some cried, but today they are no longer weeping; rather, they are now celebrating victory.”
“Even those who look down on you, if you stay in prayer, they will come back to you, realising that you are a big person,” she said.
Women and men who served at the conference were honoured with gifts and hampers.
