UMYFHVFC clinched the top spot in the competition, securing the first position for both their own choice song and the set piece category.

Their outstanding performance impressed the judges and earned them the opportunity to represent the district in the upcoming United Methodist Youth Fellowship national competitions, scheduled to take place in Murewa, Mashonaland East province in June.

In a separate category, the United Methodist Youth Fellowship Bulawayo Central also tasted success, emerging victorious in the Group A set piece category.

Their remarkable performance further demonstrates the church’s commitment to nurturing musical talent among its youth members.

The United Methodist Church has long recognized the power of music as a tool for talent development and youth empowerment.

By actively promoting musical activities, the church aims to provide young people with constructive outlets for their creativity and to steer them away from negative influences such as drug abuse.

Over the years, the United Methodist Church has been instrumental in fostering the growth of talented musicians and choral groups.

Notable names that have emerged from the church include the renowned WaBvuwi Harare West Choir, Kuchinei Chatsama of Nyembesi fame, Mukudzei Mukombe (Jah Prayzah), and Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave, among others.

These individuals serve as inspiring examples of the church’s commitment to nurturing talent and promoting positive youth development through music.
