Simon Jamukoko, founder of Jamukoko Media, a local film production company, has raised concern over the growing trend of romantic relationships between young women and their superiors in the entertainment industry.
Speaking in an interview, Jamukoko urged aspiring actresses and young professionals not to rely on romantic relationships as a strategy for career advancement.
“Young girls have one problem, they think if they date a superior at the workplace, it will accelerate their career. But it doesn’t work,” he said.
This practice is particularly common in the film and media space, where producers and directors often abuse their positions of power by engaging in relationships with upcoming actresses. He warned that such relationships are usually temporary and opportunistic.
“If you meet a superior with that kind of attitude, know that it’s just who he is. When someone ‘better’ comes along, he will leave you,” he cautioned.
In an industry often criticized by many Christian communities for promoting immoral values and being evil Jamukoko stands as a contrasting figure. He emphasized his commitment to godly principles, saying he surrounds himself with people who fear God and strive to uphold integrity.
He is a true testament that you can be in the film industry and still fear God.
