Good morning brothers and sisters. Today our scripture is taken from Proverbs 27:12. It states, “A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.”

Today I want to talk to you about planning for the future. In this world, the enemy never sleeps. We must always be prepared for what is coming. We must be humble and vigilant in our walk with God.
The first key to planning for the future is being aware of potential danger. Ephesians 6:11-12 says, “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” This scripture reminds us that there are powers in this world that seek to do us harm.
We must be aware of our surroundings, for the enemy is always at work. The second key to planning for the future is to remain humble before God. In James 4:7-10 it reads, “Submit yourselves, then, to God.
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.”
As we submit ourselves to God, He will be our shield and fortress against any evil that may come our way. The third key to planning for the future is staying watchful in prayer. In Colossians 4:2 it says, “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.”
We must pray for protection and guidance from God so that we can be prepared for anything that may come our way. We must also be thankful for all of His blessings in our lives, for He is always faithful.
My brothers and sisters, let us always remember to plan for the future, for the enemy never sleeps. Let us be aware of potential danger, remain humble before God, and stay watchful in prayer. May God bless us all as we plan for our future in Him.
