Chindito Believes Releasing Songs Gradually Helps Listeners to Digest the Message

Harare-based up-and-coming contemporary gospel musician Kundai David Chindito has said during the launch of his latest album, ‘Gratitude’, that releasing tracks piece by piece helps listeners and fans to have time to digest the message that each song holds rather than releasing all of them simultaneously.

Addressing his fans, a 26-year-old Agro Economics graduand from the University of Zimbabwe implored people to respect the message carried by each of his songs in this new album, as they carry messages of hope and salvation.

“I am a unique composer in such a way that every word in my song carries a very big message, despite how big or small it is. That is the reason I always release one song after a short while, giving you time to think and meditate upon it.”

“On the Gratitude album, there are 9 songs and 3 collaborations. I have already started to release some singles from the album, which include the songs ‘Not Shaken,’ ‘Never Lonely,’ and ‘Gratitude’ itself until all are done,” he said.

Chindito says the center of the message of the album is thanksgiving.

“The message behind it is giving thanks no matter what, as Christ has been giving thanks throughout any situation since I am an ambassador of Jesus Christ.”

He wrote his first song during the peak of Covid-19 in 2020, and some of the songs in the album include ‘Gratitude,’ ‘Not Shaken,’ ‘Patiently Waiting,’ ‘Mukundi,’ ‘Ariko,’ ‘Never Lonely,’ ‘I Need You Lord,’ ‘Your Love is Better,’ and ‘Siyabonga.’

“The market for my music is Nations and Nations; it doesn’t target age but rather hearts because as a contemporary gospel artist, I target the old, the infants, as well as the youth, you see. Plans for 2025 are to make a serious impact on the gospel music industry through packaging our Jesus in the best and better manner, bringing new sound to the world’s ears,” said the musician.

He is set to release another album, ‘Freedom’, during the mid-half of this year.
