Inspired by Luke 14:12-14 which says “Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee. [13] But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: [14] And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just” the gesture has proved a sense of love and kindness in today’s Christianity.
Sharing his birthday message,Bishop Muranda said that the gesture was meant to show love and kindness to the group with the aim of bringing them together and teaching them about Christ.
“According to the gospel of Jesus Christ, widows and orphans are in most instances left out and not shown love. As a church leader I decided to celebrate my birthday through showing them love, cooking for them and sharing the little that l have. I have sent my Pastors to share on my behalf washing soap, clothes and some food items,” he said.
Meanwhile, the beneficiaries thanked Bishop Muranda for a warm gesture saying it showed them that they deserve to be loved.
One of the parents said “I am very happy that we have been remembered today here in Chakari. The Bishop assisted me with food, clothes and soap. As I’m going back home,at least my family will have something and it is a major relief to us. Life in remote areas is tough but we are grateful to this love that we have been shown, may God bless our Bishop,” she said.
